Exalead / Master/Slave

In the following architecture, the slave server will only be used to serve UI with an index that can be detached from Master when performing full scan. In the current example, the CV Slave server will be installed on the physical server ⇒ in the screen shots, 'localhost' is used. It has to changed according to your architecture.

Add roles

In Deployment/Roles, create a new host :

Select the following roles for the host :

Add Local Search Target

In Deployment/Build Groups/Search Target, create a new search target with type 'Local Only'.

Use the 'Only Local' search target in the Search API :

Install Slave

From kitdir, run the following command 

<INSTALLDIR>/install.sh -license <LICENSE> -data <DATADIR> -host <SLAVE_HOSTNAME> 
-importSecurity <EXISTING_DATADIR/security> -install <SLAVE_INSTALL> 
-slave <MASTER_GATEWAY_URL>
Variable Description
<LICENSE> The path to the CloudView license file (cvlicense.dat).
<DATADIR> Creates the specified directory during installation, to store the index and configuration data. Specify a new directory for <DATADIR>.
<SLAVE_HOSTNAME> The slave's hostname value in the master's Deployment.xml
<MASTER_GATEWAY_URL> Use the format http://<MASTERHOSTNAME>:<BASEPORT+11>
<SLAVE_INSTALL> The slave's install value in the master's Deployment.xml

Example for the install on vdemopro server
